Our contact center supervisors saw this error when trying to run reports in Interaction Client Win32 after we upgraded from CIC 2.3.1 to CIC 2.4 SU 28:
The reporting in Interaction Client Win32 and historical reporting in Interaction Supervisor use an embedded Crystal Reports engine to display reports. This error refers to a special DLL u2lininsupporta.dll (notice the ININ) for the stock reports that come with CIC.
The cause of this error is a bad upgrade. (We had many client upgrade issues during our CIC 2.3.1 to 2.4 migration.) Though CIC clients automatically pull updates from the server, the Crystal Reports is excluded because from the CIC updater’s point of view it is simply an installer C:\Program Files\Interactive Intelligence\crystal.exe. You can check whether the U2LININSupportA.dll version matches your CIC installation by right clicking on c:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin\U2LININSupportA.dll in Windows Explorer, choosing Properties and clicking the Version tab. This screenshot shows the DLL is for CIC 2.4.
The solution is easy. To fix the error, simply copy c:\Program Files\Common Files\Crystal Decisions\2.0\bin\U2LININSupportA.dll from a good machine to the broken machine. Alternatively, you could try uninstalling Crystal Reports from Add/Remove Programs and then reinstalling it with c:\program files\interactive intelligence\crystal.exe, InstallCrystal.bat, or InstallCrystalReports.bat.
